Become a Community Companion

Sometimes one of the most valuable things you can give is your time.

Our Community Companions provide friendship, conversation and social connection to one or two survivors. It might be as simple as meeting regularly for a cuppa and a chat, going for a walk, sharing an interest, or helping someone discover and take part in activities they enjoy.

There is no expectation to provide personal or professional care. The role is about companionship, encouragement and connection — helping survivors feel more connected with their community and supporting them to participate in life in ways that are meaningful to them.

We will take care in matching Community Companions with survivors, taking into account personalities, interests and circumstances, and will provide guidance and ongoing support.

If you are a good listener, enjoy the company of others and have a little time to give regularly, you could make a very real difference.
